Change

You cant expect the wind to blow in the same direction all the time
You cant expect the moon to be full all the time
And you cant expect today to be same like tomorrow.

Then how can we expect someone to be same all the time??
The world is changing every minute and so are the people. And in this world of hatred and cruelty, it’s better not to expect anything from anyone.

And trust me it feels so much better when somethings happen out of the blue, which you totally didn’t expect.

Cheeni kum

Hindi movies nowadays are getting more and more realistic. Till sometime back, certain themes were kept locked inside the almirah, but delicate and sensitive issues and relationships are slowly stepping out of the closet. Cheeni Kum talks of two consenting adults wanting to spend the rest of their lives together. But there's a hitch... The groom-to-be is elder than the prospective father-in-law. Buddhadev (Amitabh Bachchan) is a 64 year old man and Nina (Tabu) is a 34 year old woman. Two extremes, in age, character and attitude, meet and against all odds fall in love. Lot of people didn’t really like this movie as they thought it was absurd and stupid. I thought the movie was very cute and everything is fair in love and war.

If given a choice... What would you guys do?..
Wait for the right person to enter your lives
or
Think thank god there is something called arranged marriage.

Life goes on..

How many of you have got the feeling “why does it happen only with me”. Well I did a couple of weeks ago when my friend left to India. It didn’t hit me until he was gone. It dawned on that I will really miss him. For sure I can survive I thought, I have lot of other friends; I can go shopping with them, movies, beach and what not. But why does everything remind me of him?
Not one day has gone by without talking to him and now my days seem incomplete without hearing his voice. All I can do is cherish the days we spent together watching movies, long talks and his special red pepper chicken.
The feeling of “missing” someone is sort of interesting. I know its going to be a bit tough initially but as days pass by I hope to come back to normal. Even though I get calls from him almost everyday its not going be the same as being together in a same place. I am pretty sure I can manage several days, weeks and years until he comes back. As my friend said enjoy this phase of missing someone ;).

Really want to thank all my friends for your great support as without you guys I don’t think I would have come out of this mesh.

Song from Chennai 28

This song is for all my cousins and my very close friend; it reminds me of the wonderful days we spent together without knowing that everything is gonna end pretty soon.

Sitting alone
Feeling lonely and blue
I close my eyes
And think of you
And wish…
You were here by my side
Miss you all!!!

Pointless!!!!!!

What’s with this kissing and nudity talk about Richard and Shilpa.
I think people need to grow up and think in a broader way before filing cases and burning posters of them.
I just couldn’t figure out why such commotion for a simple kiss in cheek. “Demonstrators say Gere's kissing of Shetty goes against Indian culture”. When did our Indian culture ban kissing??
People may have their own way of showing affection, and I think that’s what Richard was trying to do. If he didn’t have a problem and if she didn’t have a problem, why are people so worried about it? Ponga pa poi pullaingala paddikka veyinga :P

“Public display of affection is a taboo in India” they say, but our population doesn’t seem to decline.

A broken bond

Riya took a dose of sleeping pill, pulled her blanket and closed her eyes for a peaceful sleep. Even after taking those Flunitrazepam tablets she was unable to rest. She felt a rush a blood run into her brain…with much discomfort she tightly closed her eyes telling herself not to open it again.
The next thing she saw a bright sunny day, the curtains where pulled to the corner which let a beam of ray disturb her eyes. She opened her eyes wide welcoming the new day, got up from the bed and walked to the window to find if the computers shop across was open.
Riya gave a silly laugh thinking its only 7.30 am and the shop doesn’t open till 9.00 am. She heard her mom busy working in the kitchen preparing breakfast for her family. Riya knew today was going to be a big day for her and her family. She didn’t want to think about it anymore and escaped to take a shower.
After 20 minutes, she pushed her bathroom door open and came outside wrapped up in her blue towel. Slowly walking towards her closet deciding what to wear …thought the black sari will look good. After a minute she realized that she had packed that sari in her suitcase last night along with her other favorite dresses. Again pushing away those thoughts from her head she took a normal green color sari given by Sanjay last year for her birthday.
As she was combing her hair the aroma of hot Saambar and Pongal took her away. Not able resist Riya went and sat on table, giving glances to her dad and mom. She was looking at them as though she has never seen them for years. Riya “go put flowers to the god” yelled her mom from inside.
She placed the flowers by the god, closed her eyes prayed for the first time in her life, “ dear god…I really don’t know how other people pray to you… but all I wanted to say is to take care of my family when I am gone". As she was praying tears rolled down her cheeks. She quietly sat down to eat; her cell phone ring tone broke the silence in the house. She ran to grab it and stood near the window to notice the computer store open and Karthik standing in front with his red car. 10 minutes passed and she was still standing at the same position thinking what to do. Riya was waiting for the right time to make a move. Her mom went to the bathroom and her dad was busy watching his news. Utilizing the opportunity, she ran to the door with her suitcase and opened the door slowly. As she was about to step out she heard her mom say” Riya, don’t forget to pick up Arjun from school”. Riya hesitated for a minute, but nothing was going to stop her.
She ran down the steps quickly towards Karthik, sat in the car with him…abandoning Sanjay and Arjun, her husband and son.

Ramblings

With a temperature of -20 and a wind chill of -26 degrees blowing in my face, I made my way to the bus stop walking like a sea gull wading in the snow. I was 1 min late ..that the bus left me in the middle of the road, I was stranded there for 15 minutes till I could see the blue lights from the next bus flashing and only to find out that it was a express and wouldn’t halt at my stop.
Frustrated with the things happening I thought of playing with the snow, i picked up some snow in my hand and started meddling with it, that I suddenly heard some weird noise from the top, by the time I could look up…I was covered with snow which was on top of the bus stop roof. If you had just left me there for few minutes I could imagine the children make a snow man out of me.
Now being even more frustrated, that too at 5.30 am in the morning, I thought of walking till the next stop, so that at least it would keep me warm for sometime until the next bus comes. As I was walking through the snow,

I saw the bus pass behind me, freaked out I started to run, it was very slippery and I "almost" fell on my face, regaining my thoughts and the dream that I used to get often about me falling and breaking my front two teeth….i walked so slow that the bus driver exclaimed when I got in to the bus “ WOW…that was pretty fast ”…with a sarcastic look.
Avamaanam thaangama nan appdiye bus a vittu erangidalam n ninnaichen…but intha maari nerathula ego la parka koodathu n yaaro solli irrukaanga….so appdiye quite ah bus ulla poi ukkaarndhutain…: )
The good thing is that I didn’t miss my connecting bus to my university, or else I would have had to wait for another hour.pheww..
I was on time for the class so I thought, why not grab a coffee. The line was so big that I had to wait for 10 minutes and the class had started. I saw one guy walk into my class and hoping that he would hold the door for me I walked right behind him. But unfortunately andha paazha ponnavan let the door slam and I ended up dropping my coffee in the floor and making a big scene in the entrance that the prof had to stop the lecture for few minutes.: (..
At that point too I thought, cha class um vendham oru mannum vendham…innikki namma day ve seri illa….then again thinking about the lose that class would encounter without my presence… I went and sat at the back. Opened my laptop and was downloading some new songs…everything was fine until I heard a phone ring…it kept ringing and ringing…and I noticed people looking at my direction…but i was so confident that it wasn’t my ring tone. Within few seconds I saw the prof walk close to me and said “ it would be appreciated if you please turn off your cell”. With much disbelief I took my cell phone out from my big pink bag filled with lots of other junk. Guess what…it was my phone :)…
Then I remembered that last night my mom’s friend’s son, a very cute one indeed was playing with my cell and god knows what he did to the ring tone…that it sounded like someone barfing.
Adhukku apparam class la enna achi n nan solla maatain…ennoda maanathe ippdi air la naane parake vida maatain…:)

Moral of the story- never let kids play with your stuff…noooo I am kidding…they r too adorable to resist…:P

My Dreams

Hi hi hi….how u all doing???….well its time for me to finish ponnarasi’s Tag..as I promised :)

How do we go about writing this tag???

Make a post describing either the dream that came true or the dream that would never come true :) Which means one should'nt write about a dream that you think might come true in future :D Gotcha???? If you are a person who gets no dreams like me :( Then write about the dream that you dreamt while you were very much awake- I mean daydream. Hehehehe...
You can tag any number of people as u wish. :) Or you can also tag none.

Actually to be honest I don’t really get any dreams…and even if I do… I mostly forget it before I get up :)
But I day dream a lot…a lot means… a LOT..

Actually this is my most embarrassing day dream…

I think about falling on my face and breaking my two teeth in front :(. This would make me so ugly that I won’t be laugh or smile my entire life.
Because of this I am very cautious while climbing stairs and while walking in the snow, my friends say I walk like a tortoise in snow. :D

This one I have been dreaming since the time I started going in train. I think about sleeping and waking up to find no one around me in train…and the train is taking me to a place which I haven’t seen in my entire life.

I dream about marrying the prince charming :P…who comes in a white horse with a rose and takes me to his palace…hehe..just kidding….but yea I do dream about surya ;)…

I dream about having a glass house beside the lake…n to wake up with the sun shining on eyes…

I dream about going to space and exploring all the planets…actually I will tell u something if u guys promise not to laugh..:P….i think about going to mars and finding a living species and bringing it back to earth….with lots of people praising me…: )

I have tons like this…but I don’t want u guys to think I am totally nuts….;)…

Turbulance of Heart- End

Continued from Turbulence of Heart

Dear diary…

Things seem changing again…I am back in Chennai….feeling and remembering my memories which I left it here untwined. Walking along my memory lane I see half of my life spent in marina beach…bargaining with the auto driver…eating dosas and idlis…waiting for my bus….getting wet in the rain…bunking class and going to movies….and finally all the cherished yet bitter sweet memories of Karthik.

Getting married next week and not seen the guy even once tickles me a bit, but on the other hand I trust my parent’s choice.

I have heard his voice though, he called today….strong, deep and manly, his voice echoed on the phone as I picked up and said hello…before he could ask me anything I abruptly gave it to my dad.

Lost in the things going around me, I went into my room and opened my cupboard which I haven’t unlocked since the day I left. My old toys…all the greeting cards which I got since my 4th birthday till now…my school uniform….everything lay their neatly organized. I don’t remember arranging them…must be my grandmother. My eyes caught a cream color envelope unopened. Trying to recollect my thoughts of what it was….I took it in my hand….felt heavy. Opened it slowly not to disturb anything inside it…and found 6 letters .

Opened the one which was on the top...

Dear shwetha…

Remember the day when I first saw you, college annual day...remember the second day when you were waiting for the bus and the third day when you were sitting alone in the bench across the fountain. I can keep on going like this until the day u left to Australia. I tried to talk to you so many times..but I really wasn’t sure how you would take that. I followed you everywhere you went just to get a glimpse of your beautiful eyes which drives me crazy every time I look into them. my day won’t be complete without seeing you. I dropped a chain for you on my way to class, which I wanted to give you in person but never got the right time. All these letters are my thoughts …gone waste without giving it to you. The day you left to Australia I rushed to the airport only to find that you have gone very far from me. Physically far but mentally still close to me. I just wanted to tell you that..you are and will always be remembered and i will be waiting for you .

Your Karthik

Tears were making the letter soggy and wet. Unable to control my tears I flooded outside of my room to inform about Karthik to my parents. But the happiness and satisfaction in my parents face made me stop.

Certain things in life can be sacrificed for the happiness of your loved ones. Making up my mind I sat near my grandmother slowly pacing my head on her shoulders. She picked up one invitation from the pile and handed it to me.

A broad smile broke on my face as it read….Swetha Weds Karthik. Awakened and agitated I looked my grandmother…she gave me the most accomplished smile.

Was really tempting to give a sad ending…but due to public pressure…finished it in a good note…..adutha post…ponnarasi oda Tag(atha maraka mattain ;) )....apparam pasangala...naan than first..naan thaan second n sandai pottukama comments poddanum...:D..

Turbulence of heart

Dear dairy,

Things are changing again, days are rolling fast ahead as I lay in my couch thinking about the day when you first laid your eyes on me. It was our college annual day and I was busy getting my friend ready for the last dance show, when you showed up suddenly in our room with eyes wide open starring. I think you got your senses back within seconds and blurred out saying “Sorry wrong room”. I don’t know what you thought about me but I didn’t have a good impression about you as some guys purposely enter girls room with the same lame excuse. The second time I saw your face was when you climbed the stage to get the student of the year award, my first impression of you was changing a bit after this incident. You were one of the popular guys among our college while I wasn’t. Only people from my class knew me which initially bothered me but then I got used to it. After that I have seen you many times with your friends laughing and having a blast. I manage to give you eye contact all the time just in case you recognize me from that day but u always let me down.. There were always different girls around you all the time which made me feel insecure. So I just decided to stick to my ambition and work on making it true. One thing which makes me puzzled till now is that wherever I go I happened to see you, something which pulled us together even if I tried walking the opposite side.. The day wasn’t far when I heard my mom tell me that I got admission for a pre-med course in Australia and I had to leave within a month. Tears rolled down my cheek as I thought about you….my first love …It was incomplete.
I packed my bag along with the chain you accidentally dropped in the road while you were running to your class.
After 4 years …as a doctor I rarely get time to think about all these things, but as a girl you will always have a special place in my heart Karthik.

To be continued ....

Heat of the sun

Fragrance of water lilies
Lingering of birds

Grow old along with me!

My Birthday! what a different sound ..
That word had in my youthful ears;
And how each time the day comes round,
Less and less white its mark appears

The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made.

5 weird things about me..

I cant stand the sight of blood, it gives me goose bumps…..and guess what field I am in ...Health science : )

You must have seen people eat rice with curry, but have you seen anyone eat it with chocolate, yea yea that’s ME ..hehe

I can’t stand the noise of someone chewing loud; I go bizarre and get very frustrated.

I can’t sleep without a blanket. No matter how humid it is I need something to cover me in order to fall asleep.

I talk to myself. It clears my views and helps me understand certain things. But I don’t do this in front of anyone, it is quite embarrassing.(yerkkanave paithiyum n ninnaikiranga…ithu veraya?)

I like the taste of burnt food scrapped out from the bottom of the pot.

Destiny

I looked outside the window
Hoping to find something; incredible and astonishing.
Like a small ray of hope!!
Thinking if it could change my destiny forever
Thinking if you will be still standing outside my window
Thinking of the sweet and cherishful days that passed by,
I do not know what destiny holds for me
But I know now that I am nothing without you.
Tears came rolling down my cheek as I stood there across your graveyard.
Soon did I realize that destiny and me don’t go hand in hand...
There are no words to describe for the love that I shared with you.
The love that is so real; that I want to feel it without any pain when we apart.

Hi guys how u all doing, I started to write this poem from a bright side but I do not know how and when I changed it to something depressing. I guess I am more comfortable writing sad and gloomy poems than lively and colorful ones...
