Once upon a time

Once upon a time there was a girl
Who believed in everything

A girl
whose sadness used to sadden everyone else around her

A girl
whose life just seemed picture perfect

A girl
Who thought life would be incomplete without someone

A girl
Who believed there was a prince for her.

A girl
Who couldn’t deal with reality

A girl
Who wanted to write everything straight from her heart

But not any more.
Now she is a woman...

The history of all times and of today especially, teaches that ... women will be forgotten if they forget to think about themselves.

Once there was a boy
A boy whose love went unrequited

A boy
Who fussed about how horrible his life is

A boy
Who believed that the world is honest

A boy
Who loved to love everyone around him

A boy
Waiting for his long lost love

A boy
Who wouldn't grow up

A boy
Who let go off all those who loved him

A boy
Who realized suddenly that the world is empty

A boy
Who lost the battle of his life

Not anymore...cause he's now a man
Only a thousand times more stupid than when he was a boy :)

(just for fun .. ok...your poem is really nice..and melancholic...:)

ah! I can understand the tone of the poem, not the exact meaning though! But from what little i understood, here goes:

It is true of all human beings that as long as we believe in ourselves, we r happy and can bring happiness to those around us and others would look at us and remember us (for positive reasons! :D). But the moment we lose confidence in ourselves, we push ourselves into obscurity. And if u have the choice, dont make yourself dependent on some guy (or girl) for your happiness. Your line "Who thought life would be incomplete without someone" is v true, because, it is we who create these thoughts in ourselves. Place only so much dependence/belief/importance on a person, as that person places on u (maybe a bit more is fine too).

@pradeep: I like your poem. Because Iam a guy, I understand it perfectly...though, I would want to change the order of the verses. But, every single line from the start to the end, make so much sense to me! :)

@Raj-

u r rite da...never give everything that you have to someone....cuz when they r gone...you have nothing left...

totally agree with u...n u just captured my entire feelings in one big para...lol

i have so many things at the back of my mind...which i cant tell or express....one day its just gonna explode like a wild volcano...n i hope no one is around me at that time...

watever may the reason be...i feel jealous about guys...cuz they r lucky in certain ways..compared to us...one simple example is freedom..

i cant stand discrimination...when some guys believe that woman r useful only in the kitchen...my blood boils...

seri ithu pothum n ninaikiren...i am already off topic..n i am not even sure wat i wanted to convey here...ah u got it rite..hehe..:)

Once upon a time

There was a woman

A woman
who failed to realize her happiness makes everyone around her happy

A woman
who thought pictue of life has gone imperfect

A woman
who believed she became old at 22 itself

A woman
who believed the girl in herself had been lost entirely

A woman
who thought reality always will bite

Not anymore
Because she discovered, life can be fun if she remains child at heart and only to chuck out the childish attitude, and the little girl in her is not lost after all

P.S : Ithuvum just for fun than....Inspired by Pradeep kumar :)

Hahaha ... looks like everyone just turned the topic from mildly serious to fun... Way to go boys !

@raj.. Thanks a lot for liking and commenting on the same. More importantly for identifying with it..say what? Everyone would've experienced the feelings at least once in their life... So does Mystery girl's feelings :)

@mystery girl : Yes, the lines just came flowing :)...I am an amateur poet...and that explains it :). Thanks to you too for liking it :)

I do like melancholic poems and moods..I still remember your poem in which a girl is sitting in room and staring in rain...that was so heart breaking :). Correct me if I am wrong, but this poem started on a different note for you, but somewhere you ended up mirroring your own feelings, right :).

@rsubras
WOW...you rearranged everything and made it so funny :)...Very good..Looks like I'm in very good company :)

both the stages of girl n woman r beautiful.... but the drawback is boys take way longer to become a man ;)

Be it girl or woman..each one has its own pros and cons :) and same applies for boy and man... so live life for every moment than for the future alone....
